  • The Mitutoyo 536-142 inside vernier caliper takes precision inside measurements from 10 to 200 mm, for applications requiring high levels of accuracy, especially in scientific research and in industries where parts must fit exactly. This caliper has knife-edge type jaws for taking hard-to-reach inside measurements, such as hole diameters.
  • The vernier caliper has a fixed (main) scale and a movable (vernier) scale. The vernier scale moves over the main scale rule to give a fractional measurement which is added to the measurement of the main scale to achieve a more accurate result. The main scale may be marked in inches, millimeters, or both. The vernier scale may be marked in inches or millimeters. A thumbwheel permits fast measuring, and a rotating screw controls the caliper’s movement.
